Não vejo flores em você

João Carlos Porfírio

Não sou muito adepto ao senso comum. Tampouco o pensamento padrão me atrai. Gosto do outro lado.

Ninguém me tira!

A troca é desigual.

Novos tempos. Novas mentes. Novos pensamentos.

O mundo mudou. As relações de trabalho mudaram. A indústria farmacêutica mudou.  A sua família continua mudando. Todo dia.

E o senso comum?

E eu continuarei me perdendo na contramão. Achando novos caminhos e tornando a viagem mais divertida.

Tem lugar no meu carro. Quer uma carona?

I don’t see flowers in you

João Carlos Porfírio

I am not very adept at common sense. Nor does standard thinking appeal to me. I like the other side. From different perspectives and angles. With that, most of the time, the mind becomes restless.

The Covid pandemic brought a mix of concepts that struggle to become common sense. Some succeed. Others polarize. A great soup of “truths”, philosophies and certainties. More food for a restless mind. Not healthy at all, by the way.

Among those who reach a consensus, this period is a great time to live with the family and be close to the children. And there I go in the opposite direction.

I can’t see poetry in this interaction. And if you can, that’s fine. Still friends. I will not take my point of view as an absolute truth, but I will argue hard for your right to think differently.

Without wanting to justify, but explaining the “maybe” of my thinking, knowing my own values and beliefs makes me find clues to my discomfort.

Self-responsibility. No wonder, the theme of the first chapter of my book “Remedy to Grow”.

I can’t accept that creating quality moments with the family or being close to my son is a consequence of the pandemic. That responsibility is mine! Nobody takes me away!

But what if this is seen as a gift?

As they would say in the interior of Minas Gerais – Brazil: “Too gradual, I insist on it.”

The exchange is uneven. Time and conviviality are alms. They are not flowers.

Knowing that we are all surrounded by a lethal risk, living in a sad world, losing the hugs of friends, singing congratulations on the internet and wasting days with grandparents are not compensated by the poetry of the opportunity of the moment in the family.

And the lemons? Do I make lemonade?

How about serving it with an extra, sugar-free dose of “self-responsibility”?

It will be bitter. But never again will you complain that work doesn’t “let” you have more time with your family. Or that “the rush is great” but the holidays are coming and you will have “long” 20 days to do everything you want.

New Times. New minds. New thoughts.

The world changed. Labor relations have changed. The pharmaceutical industry has changed. Your family keeps changing. All day.

And common sense?

This will continue to form patterns, with a beautiful rhetoric in search of the seal “sealed” and saving the energy spent on reflections and thoughts.

And I will continue to lose myself against the grain. Finding new ways and making the trip more fun.

It takes place in my car. Do you want a ride?
